Hello!
Greetings and welcome back to the Citijan blog for the fifth entry! Today's post is the
last of the introductory posts about Citijan. We will be on break for few weeks, and when we are back, our posts will focus on E-Democracy initiatives across the World and in India, the success stories, lessons to learn and the risky pitfalls that await slight missteps.
Today's post -
"Steal Our Idea Please!" - is a counter-intuitive piece of writing that goes against the wisdom of traditional start-up World. Almost all start-ups begin with an idea, whether it's novel or copied. But,
ideas by themselves are worthless without execution. Only when an idea takes root in definitive form, either as a product or a service, there is value in that idea.
To ensure success, most of the start-ups safely guard their idea as a secret, until they are ready to bring it to the real World. After all, if an idea has potential to succeed, the ones executing it the best will reap the rewards the most. That's the intent behind
Building in Stealth.
Citijan is different!
We are not bothered about only us being successful. As we said last week,
our vision is bigger than ourselves. If somebody else can execute our vision better than us, by all means, we will extend our wholehearted support to them.
We don't see competition. We only see collaboration. We will not build in stealth!
Our present
product roadmap spans a period of
10 years. We have no intention to rush through, and we are instead driven by gradual meaningful impact with strong fundamentals. As can be seen from our home page (
citijan.in), we are first addressing the issue of voter literacy and empowerment, because we believe elections are the bedrock of any democracy. Going forward, slowly but surely, brick by brick, we will keep on addressing other democratic requirements and issues. Your support will be invaluable to us, as we pursue this monumental journey.
We must also emphasize that what we are envisioning cannot be achieved on our own.
Democracy is the responsibility of all of us, and no single individual or single entity can take up the burden of democracy's progress single-handedly.
Our efforts will succeed, only when there is support from others, and only when we support the efforts of others.
Thus, we are actively seeking collaboration with like-minded organizations, who are equally passionate to serve the society as we are. If you are on the same space of working towards evolution of democracy, we are eagerly awaiting to join hands with you and build a better future together! If there is any way we can help you, you can count on our help!
The ideal future that we foresee is a group of organizations collaborating together to assist the progress of democracy, and Citijan being one of the group.
For that ideal future to emerge, it is not enough for Citijan to be working alone. We will definitely give our best, but it always helps when we know there are others walking along with us! Thus, by all means, if you or anyone you know is interested in progressing E-Democracy, please do reach out to us at

This concludes the last of the introductory posts about Citijan, and we hope these posts were able to articulate what we are trying to build with Citijan and the future that we envision for democracy. It had been a pleasure to pen down the abstract thoughts that had been prevailing in our minds, and we express our sincere thanks for your active involvement and encouragement.
Before we close, we have a small favor to ask. We are actively looking to build our connections and networks, so if you or anyone you know have any connections with the following groups of people, it will be of great help to us, if you can provide us reference by mail at
