The Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Amendment) Act, 2024, published on 15th February, amends the list of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Odisha.

Amendment omits Tamadia and Tamudia communities from the list of Scheduled Castes in Odisha, and recognizes these communities under Scheduled Tribes.

Amendment provides extensive list of synonyms for several of the existing Scheduled Tribe communities of Odisha. For full list of synonyms, please check below Gazette.

Additionally, Amendment adds the following communities to the list of Scheduled Tribes in Odisha -
1. Muka Dora, Mooka Dora, Nuka Dora, Nooka Dora communities in undivided Koraput District,
2. Konda Reddy, Konda Reddi.
