The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order (Amendment) Act, 2024, published on 12th February, amends the Schedule of The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order, 1956, and adds Valmiki community as a synonym of Chura, Balmiki, Bhangi, and Mehtar communities in the Union Territory of J&K.
